Zandra Rhodes was born on September 19, 1940 in Chatham, Kent, England as Zandra Lindsey Rhodes.
She is known for her work on The British guide to showing off (2011), Freddie Mercury, the untold story (2000) and The new Royals (2001).
She was awarded the CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in the 1997 Queen’s Honours List for her services to fashion. Rhodes designed for Diana, Princess of Wales, and continues to design for royalty and celebrities. She notably designed several of famous costumes for Freddie Mercury of Queen. She was awarded Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in the 2014 Queen’s Birthday Honours List for her services to British Fashion and Textiles.
